A Beautiful Day

at the Arboretum
amongst the most beautiful flowers
with the most beautiful boys
with the most beautiful smiles
It's a beautiful life!

6 months old already!!!!

We're just hitting milestones left and right around here. First Bryant turns 5. Then Dayden turns 6 months (last Saturday), and next week Casey will turn 2! WOW!!!! It's amazing how everyone is just growing up but I seem to be staying the same young 25 :)

Well, back to Dayden and his 6 month milestone. He had his checkup today and weighs a whopping 16lbs 12oz (which is EXACTLY what Bryant weighed at 6 months) and is 26 1/4 in long. He's in the 50% and growing great. He's still a toot about not wanting to eat, not wanting to sleep through the night, and not wanting to roll from back to tummy BUT he's a happy toot!!

At 6 months Dayden CAN:
*roll from tummy to back
*laugh (big belly laughs too:)
*sit for a few seconds unassisted
*"talk" alot
*play with his feet
*play with and grab toys
*put everything near him in his mouth

Dayden loves his brothers and boy do they love him. They are both so good with him. Casey even shares his lovey with him every now and then and Bryant loves to take care of him. Dayden will just watch them play and smile and laugh when he sees them. I love it!! It just melts the heart to see such sweetness.

Bon Appetite

Bryant had a fabulous chef birthday party. He and his friends made mini pizzas and ice cream sundaes. As you can see, they had a blast and make pretty darn cute little chefs :)

Bryant entered our lives (well technically 5 years ago last night). Wow...I can remember the day like it was yesterday. We were getting ready for a BBQ book party for Bryant and he didn't want to miss out on the fun. After laboring all day, he arrived at 10:33 that night. It's amazing how much a little sweet baby can change your life and yet you could never imagine your life without him.

Bryant has grown up to be such a funny, smart, sweet, caring big boy. We love him so much and are so blessed God put him in our lives. He loves to play outside, swing, color, play games, help with his brothers, try to read and write, play with his mom and dad, watch cartoons, and just have fun. He's your typical 5 year but much more (if you ask me). He's just wonderful!!!

Happy 5th Birthday Bryant Allen Sands! We love you more than you can imagine.

Nom Nom Nom

Dayden had his first cereal yesterday. Let me tell you, he wanted so bad to just shove it all in his mouth and get it in his belly BUT his little mouth wouldn't cooperate. He made a MESS! He would grab my hand and not want me to take it away so he would also hold onto the spoon and not give it back. Poor boy, he loves it but can't get it quite right :) Of course, big brother, Bryant, fed him his first bite :)

Cowtown

As I recently posted, I'd been training for the Cowtown Half Marathon which took place February 27. We made it a fun weekend by staying in a hotel Friday night with Nana. Grandpa Gary met the family (I was already at the race) on Saturday morning to go to the race to see me finish (well to see Ashely and Holly too). It was a cold windy morning but turned into a beautiful day for a race! The race was a little more hilly than I would've liked but nonetheless, I did great!!! I finished in 2 hours 3 minutes and 51 seconds. That was 6 minutes and some better than my last half. I was so excited. I definitely didn't expect to do better. WooHoo!!! I just had to pat myself on the back a minute.
If you look REALLY hard you can see the little purple shirt (me) crossing the finish line!!
Me, Ashely, and Holly after the race....Holly's first half :O)
Me and my boys after I got to shower off at the hotel! Don't they look proud!

A little bit of this, a little bit of that

We made a trip to Breckenridge at the beginning of February for my Papa's birthday. It was a quick trip but we had a nice time. See for yourselves :)

We had record snowfall here in Dallas in February as well. Boy was that an adventure. I've always thought that if I liked snow that much I would move to Colorado! After lots of bundling and a tid bit of hesitation, the kids had a great time playing in the beautiful fluffy white stuff. We even made snow ice cream...which wasn't as good as I remember as a kid :)
